Candace Moose is a person who makes things happen. So when back pain and leg numbness started interfering with her life, she knew she needed to take action.
Candace headed straight to The Spine Hospital at the Neurological Institute of New York at Columbia. Having previously received a life-saving heart transplant from a Columbia team, Candace was very familiar with Columbia’s excellent standard of care.
She knew her heart transplant made her surgical situation more complicated, but it turned out her spine conditions weren’t straightforward either. Treating them would require two expert surgeons, Dr. Paul McCormick and Dr. Peter Angevine .
