As a graduate of St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing, Ms. Farrow began work as a registered nurse caring for floor patients and then in neurocritical care prior to embarking on a career as a neuroendovascular RN at Beth Israel Hospital-North in New York City. She proceeded to complete her MSN degree at Columbia University School of Nursing and became a board certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in 2003. Ms. Farrow has since been the Nurse Practitioner for the Department of Neurological Surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia Medical Center. Currently, in collaboration with attending and resident physicians, she manages the pre- and post-surgical care of the adult inpatient neurosurgical service. She also functions as a liaison among the interdisciplinary members of the team, interfacing and directing various aspects of the patient’s holistic care. Her academic interests focus on patient and nursing education in neurosurgical and neurovascular disease. Her accomplishments include item writing for the ANCC Acute Care Nurse Practitioner exam, lecturing in various forums, and recent co-authoring of a publication in the Journal of Neurosurgery and in the upcoming Textbook of Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology.
