Evan Johnson,D.P.T., Director of Physical Therapy here at Columbia University Medical Center’s Spine Center, was recently asked to speak during the monthly clinical and case review conference held by Valley Hospital’s Spine Center in Ridgewood, New Jersey.
He spoke about the therapeutic management of patients with low back pain.
Dr. Johnson has been treating patients with a large variety of spinal disorders for nearly twenty years and currently teaches Orthopedics and Therapeutic Exercise related to the spine and extremities to physical therapy doctoral and medical students here at Columbia.
He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association’s Hooked on Evidence Low Back Pain Panel. He also served as a reviewer for the American College of Physicians and American Pain Society’s guidelines on Low Back Pain.
At the Valley Spine Center conference, Dr. Johnson spoke to professionals from pain management, rehabilitation, nursing, and neurosurgery. Alfred T. Ogden, M.D., Gaetan Moise, M.D., and Michael G. Kaiser, M.D., F.A.C.S., neurosurgeons from Columbia’s Spine Center were also in attendance.
