President-Elect Solomon Speaks at Annual AAcNS Meeting

Department Chair and President-Elect, Dr. Robert Solomon spoke at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Neurological Surgeons (AAcNS) held earlier this month in Monterey, California.

Solomon’s official term as AAcNS President will begin next October at the annual meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona.

At this year’s event, Solomon gave a lecture to wide interest entitled, Proximal Basilar Occlusion for the Treatment of Complex Basilar Aneurysms.

Dr. Jeffrey Bruce from the Brain Tumor Center and Dr. Donald QuestJ. Lawrence Pool Professor of Neurological Surgery, have also been elected as Officers. Beginning next year, Dr. Bruce will be Vice-President and Dr. Quest (a past AAcNS president) will hold the position of Historian.

Also in attendance this year, were Dr. E. Sander Connolly from the Cerebrovascular Center and Dr. Guy McKhann from the Brain Tumor CenterEpilepsy Center, and Movement Disorders Center.
