Dr. Paul McCormick Brings Expertise on Spine to CNS 2012

Dr. Paul McCormick, Director of the Spine Center and Herbert & Linda Gallen Professor of Neurological Surgery, spoke at the recent 2012 Annual Meeting of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) in Chicago.

He co-directed a practical course with Dr. Peter Angevine on Using Evidence-Based Medicine to Manage Spinal Disorders. This course covered spinal tumors, degenerative spinal disorders, the use of biological substances, and minimally invasive techniques.

During a meeting of the CNS Section on Tumors, he spoke about Intradural Extramedullary Spinal Neoplasms with a Focus on Schwannomas and Neurofibromatosis.

Dr. McCormick also directed a Dinner Seminar entitled, Front versus Back, where different surgical strategies were compared for the treatment of  spondylotic myelopathy (CSM).
