Evan Johnson, DPT, Director of Physical Therapy at our Spine Center, is busy preparing for a busy week in New Orleans next week where he will be speaking at the 28th annual meeting of the North American Spine Society (NASS).
Starting on October 9, 2013 Johnson will be lecturing at the NASS’ Collaborative Concepts in Spine Care Sessions, an educational track designed for allied health professionals.
During his first session, ABC’s of Lumbar Spinal Stenosis, Johnson will talk about patient history and physical examination, followed by conservative care including manual therapy and rehabilitation. Dr, Johnson will be the moderator at another session titled, Integrated Care Case Studies.
This campaign was designed to educate patients about the nine myths of back pain. These include inaccurate theories such as, exercise causes back pain, and bed rest is the best cure for back pain. You can read more about the nine myths in NASS’ Back to Basics tips sheet.
Dr. Johnson’s interview will take place on Thursday, October 10, 2013 and the taped segment will be broadcast by at least two radio stations in New York, shortly thereafter (we’ll keep you posted on that).
