Dr. Christopher Winfree Gives Presentation to Physical Rehab Students

Dr. Christopher Winfree from the Peripheral Nerve Center recently gave a presentation on peripheral nerve injuries to students here at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.

His lecture was for residents and medical students rotating through the Department of Physical Rehabilitation.

“We work closely with the Department of Physical Rehabilitation,” says Dr. Winfree, “sharing knowledge, insights, and collaborating to better serve our peripheral nerve patients.”

Peripheral nerve patients most commonly include those with conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar neuropathy, peroneal neuropathy, traumatic nerve injuries, and peripheral nerve tumors.

Dr. Winfree repairs damaged nerves and removes nerve tumors using micro-neurosurgical techniques to maximize his patients’ potential for recovery. That recovery often includes collaboration with members of the Physical Rehabilitation Department.
