Dr. Christopher Winfree Busy with AANS/CNS Pain Section in Chicago

Dr. Christopher Winfree from the Peripheral Nerve and Pain Centers spent a very busy few days at the 2012 Annual Meeting of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS).

As current Chair of the combined AANS/CNS Pain Section, he had the opportunity to meet with his colleagues face to face and reinforce their efforts to promote this unique specialty. In particular this section seeks to,”Increase the role of the neurosurgeon in the multidisciplinary field of pain management, through education and advocacy.”

Dr. Winfree also gave several lectures and moderated discussions during the meeting’s Original Science Program. One was on the subject of Emerging Indications for Neurostimulation, another on Acute and Long-term Management of Peripheral Nerve Trauma, and a third on Sports-related Head, Neck, and Peripheral Nerve Injuries.

Dr. Winfree also gave a lecture about The Future of Pain Neurosurgery and he was faculty for the Section on Pain Oral Presentations.
