Dr. Sean Lavine to Paddle Around Manhattan for Charity

Columbia Neurosurgeon, Dr. Sean Lavine on the river for Sea Paddle NYC 2014

For the second year, Dr. Sean Lavine from the Endovascular Center and Cerebrovascular Center will paddle 25 miles around Manhattan island for a good cause. The event, 2014 SEAPaddleNYC, will take place Monday August 11, 2014 at 09:00 AM. The race begins under the Brooklyn Bridge on the East River and Dr. Lavine says,

“We circle the top of Manhattan at my favorite spot the Columbia University Boathouse and the big ‘C’, then turn onto the Hudson and work our way down to the Chelsea Piers. It is a mental and physical challenge, but we are rewarded by a unique view of Manhattan passing under almost two dozen bridges and viewing numerous landmarks as few people ever see them.”

The event benefits multiple autism charities as well as the effort to keep our waters clean and safe through Surfer’s Environmental Alliance. Learn more here. You can support Dr. Lavine and SeaPaddleNYC here.
