We are proud to announce, Dr. Philip Meyers from our Cerebrovascular Center and Endovascular Center is the new President of the Society of Neurointerventional Surgery (SNIS). He took over for Michael J. Alexander, MD, Professor of Neurosurgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles at the Society’s 10th Annual Meeting in Miami, Florida last month.

SNIS is a multi-disciplinary society of neurosurgeons, radiologists and neurologists who perform neuro-endovascular procedures (to learn more about the exciting work these people do, check out our previous blog, Endovascular Neuroradiology; The New Frontier).

Dr. Meyers has been committed to this organization for years, serving as their Treasurer and then Vice President before becoming President.

“I am honored to have this opportunity to serve my society and my fellow colleagues in this way,” said Dr. Meyers. “As the neurointerventional field’s leading resource for professional training, practice development and clinical standards, SNIS has been at the forefront in helping to advance our specialty and raise the bar on quality of care for patients everywhere.”

Also lecturing at the meeting were Dr. Sean lavine from Cerebrovascular Center and Endovascular Center along with New Jersey affiliate Dr. Dorothea Altschul.

Congratulations Dr. Meyers!
