We are pleased to announce that a member of the Columbia Neurosurgery team, Michael McDowell, from the Cerebrovascular Research Lab, has won a substantial grant for research from the Brain Aneurysm Foundation.
McDowell, who is a medical student at Columbia’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, has been actively involved in cerebrovascular research with Dr. E. Sander Connolly at the Department of Neurosurgery during his time at Columbia.
McDowell has been given a $15,000 Christopher C. Getch, MD Chair of Research Award to carry out his research project titled, Assessment of Aneurysm Rupture Risk: Candidate Susceptibility Genes for Subarachnoid Hemorrhage and Morphological Parameters.
