Dr. Sean D. Lavine from the Endovascular Center, and Cerebrovascular Center was recently asked to participated in a community education program, Valley Health PrimeTime, offered by The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey.
Dr. Lavine was happy to oblige and spoke to attendees last month in a presentation, entitled Stroke Update, which focused on stroke prevention, diagnosis, and treatment as well as the new Biplane Technology.
Stoke Update Lecture Synopsis: You may be able to prevent the third leading cause of death in the United States. A stroke is caused when the blood supply to the brain is cut off. Many times, this occurs because of a clot. There has been significant advancement in the diagnosis and treatment of stroke. The newest update in technology is the neurointerventional biplane. This technology helps physicians diagnose neurological abnormalities and then treat them with minimally invasive and endovascular procedures.
