Dr. Donald Quest, J. Lawrence Pool Professor of Neurological Surgery and surgeon at the Spine Center, will be receiving the 2012 Harvey Cushing Medal, the highest honor granted by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS).
The Cushing Medal will be presented to Dr. Quest on April 16 at the 80th Annual Meeting of the AANS held this year in Miami, Florida. The medal is a well deserved recognition of his many years of outstanding leadership, dedication and contributions to the field of neurosurgery.
Dr. Quest has served as past president of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (1987), the American Academy of Neurological Surgeons (2002), as well as the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (2007).
Dr. Quest has a long history here at Columbia; he graduated from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons and finished his Residency in Neurosurgery here at the Neurological Institute in 1976.
