Like most alumni organizations, the Columbia University Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Alumni Association provides the doctors who graduated from its program a way to network with colleagues and share ideas about how to make the organization better.
As the Association’s new president, Dr. Christopher J. Winfree has a unique advantage. Dr. Winfree did his residency training at Columbia, and is now an Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery there. His experience at Columbia University Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital gives him a special perspective that should prove valuable in his new role.
There are currently more than 10,000 practicing physicians who have trained at Columbia University Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, one of the country’s leading academic medical centers. The Alumni Association serves as a resource for these doctors and also seeks their input on how they can facilitate an even more interactive membership
Dr. Winfree is no stranger to professional organizations. He holds memberships in several, has served on the editorial board for the CNS Self Assessment in Neurological Surgery (SANS), and has been the president of the AANS / CNS Joint Section on Pain.
Congratulations to Dr. Winfree on his new leadership role.
