Nine years ago at the Annual Meeting of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), Dr. Jeffrey Bruce from the Brain Tumor Center started the very popular all-day Practical course, Brain Tumor Update.
“It is still a very popular course,” says Dr. Bruce who last Sunday was part of the course faculty in Chicago at the 2012 CNS meeting.”There are a lot of neurosurgeons out there who don’t deal much with brain tumors, mostly those in private practice, and it has been a few years since they have been up to date on the latest things in surgery.”
“When I first started this course, we had a huge turn out and we’ve gotten very good feedback year after year,” says Dr. Bruce. “Right now we are starting to see some people who took the course years ago and have taken it again now to get an even more recent refresher. I have turned this course over to a former Columbia alumnus, Dr. Andrew Parsa. He has done a terrific job and I’ve been happy to see that it has been so successful.”
