Donald Quest, MD – 2012 Inductee of APGAR Academy

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Donald Quest, from our Neurosurgery Department, was recently accepted as a member of the prestigious Virginia Apgar Academy of Medical Educators.  This Academy for the Columbia University Medical Center(CUMC) College of Physicians and Surgeons, directed by Dr. Deborah Cabaniss (Director of Psychotherapy Training and Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at CUMC), is one of four new academies at CUMC that focus on teaching excellence.

The selection process was rigorous for the newest members of the Apgar Academy: an application and a panel of internal and external reviewers that considered

Dr. Cabaniss says that Apgar Academy members will offer workshops, coach fellow teachers, and mentor junior faculty with the goal of building excitement for innovative new ways to teach clinical and research skills to medical students.

Congratulations Dr. Quest!  And thank you for continuing your interest in promoting pedagogical excellence.
