National Meeting Attendance

Any resident who has an oral presentation accepted at a national neurosurgical meeting may attend that meeting, and expenses will be paid for by the department. If a poster is accepted, the resident must provide evidence that a case report or paper has been submitted for publication in order for the resident to be permitted to attend the meeting at the department’s expense. Each chief resident will be permitted to attend one national meeting at departmental expense.

Please note the following travel policies:

  • All airline tickets must be purchased at least 14 days in advance of travel.
  • Reimbursement for hotel rooms will be limited to $200 per night.
  • Rooms must be shared with a co-resident/student (exception if only one female is at meeting).
  • Receipts will be required for all expenses.
  • Travel and Expense Reports should be submitted within one month, but must be submitted within six months or they will not be reimbursed per university policy.
  • Residents must be a first author on an abstract to receive reimbursement.
  • All exceptions to the above will require prior written approval from Dr. Bruce or Dr. Solomon.
