Medical students interested in neurosurgery have several opportunities during their clinical years to gain exposure and insight into this exciting field. Students at Columbia Physicians and Surgeons have the unique opportunity to explore neurosurgery through a weeklong Neurosurgery Clerkship during their third year of medical school. Columbia P&S students as well as visiting students can apply for a sub-internship in Neurosurgery during their fourth year of medical education.
Students at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons are given the opportunity to experience neurosurgery as part of their Major Clinical Year neurology rotation. The weeklong clerkship in neurosurgery is an unique learning opportunity offered by only about 10 percent of medical schools in the country.view more
