Mirna Giordano, M.D.
Assistant Professor in Pediatrics
After finishing medical school at Dartmouth, Dr. Giordano moved to New York and completed her residency here at Columbia. She continued on after graduation in the pediatric Emergency Room. Then, in 2006, she formed a small group of pediatric hospitalists that began working closely with pediatric neurosurgeons, Dr. Neil Feldstein, Dr. Richard Anderson and Dr. Saadi Ghatan from the Pediatric Neurosurgery Center. According to Giordano, “The whole concept has been to make the stay of inpatient neurosurgical patients amazing and as smooth of an experience as possible. We take care of the medical stuff and they are taking care of surgical care.” Dr. Giordano routinely takes care of children with diagnoses such as Chiari Malformation, dermal sinuses, Tethered Spinal Cords, infections,Brain Tumors, Spinal Tumors, as well as children with shunts and those who undergo dorsal rhizotomy. While Dr. Giordano primarily treats neurosurgical patients during their hospital stay, she also takes care of children with epilepsy and other neurological conditions.
