Three Columbia Neurosurgeons Learn from Famed Neurosurgeon Gazi Yasargil
Three of our neurosurgeons, Dr. Michael Sisti, Dr. Guy McKhann and Dr. Anthony D’Ambrosio, had the distinct privilege of taking a three-day course with the great neurosurgeon, Dr. M. Gazi Yasargil last month.
Dr. Yasargil was named Neurosurgery’s Man of the Century by the Journal of Neurosurgery and is credited with the development of micro-neurosurgery. ”Dr. Yasargil is the most renowned neurosurgeon of our time,” says Dr. D’Ambrosio.”His course demonstrated the importance of understanding the white matter anatomy for brain tumor surgery.”
The course, The Impact of Fiber Dissection for Intrinsic Brain Tumor Surgery: A Hands-On Cadaver Workshop was held at the Saint Louis University School of medicine in Missouri from October 11-13, 2012.
What an honor to learn from such a legend in neurosurgery!
