NFL Commissioner Speaks at CNS Meeting
Earlier this week, many of our neurosurgeons got to hear NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell speak at the Annual meeting of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) in Washington, DC.
Goodell spoke about collaboration with neurosurgeons in developing guidelines for athletes returning to play after a concussion.
According to Dr. Sean Lavine from the Endovascular Center, “Mr Goodell spoke about the importance of having a neurological professional, independent from the team physician, clear head injured players before returning to action. The NFL has adopted this policy as have the majority of the states. The NFL goal is that all states adopt the same rule.”
