Anderson and Feldstein Compare Surgical Treatments for Arachnoid Cysts
At the Pediatric Neurosurgery Section meeting held in December, Dr. Richard Anderson and Dr. Neil Feldstein from our Pediatric Neurosurgery Center co-authored a study that compared surgical techniques for the treatment of Middle Fossa Arachnoid Cysts (MFAC). They looked at patients after fenestration with and without shunt placement and here is what they concluded, “clinical and radiographic improvement rates are similar following surgical intervention for MFAC regardless of whether a shunt is placed.”
